Yamazaki (Chuo U.) report on behalf of the MAXI team:\n\nAt the scan transit centered at UT 2010-06-16T01:42:13.00,\nMAXI/GSC detected a short X-ray transient lasting about 28 seconds \nwithin the 50 seconds triangular transit response of MAXI/GSC.\nJudging from its location and spectral hardness ratio, this transient is\nprobably a X-ray flash.\n\nSince the emission was detected only for a fraction of the triangular \ntransit response, the uncertainty of its position along the scan direction \nis large.  Without assuming the source constancy, we obtain a rectangular \nerror box (90%C.L.) with the following corners: \n\n(R.A., Dec) = (+50.95 deg, -40.62 deg) = (03 23 49, -40 37 23)(J2000)\n(R.A., Dec) = (+52.30 deg, -40.06 deg) = (03 29 11, -40 03 44)(J2000)\n(R.A., Dec) = (+53.49 deg, -41.66 deg) = (03 33 58, -41 39 24)(J2000)\n(R.A., Dec) = (+52.12 deg, -42.23 deg) = (03 28 29, -42 13 51)(J2000)\n\nThere is additional systematic uncertainty of 0.2 deg (90% containment radius).\n\nThe preliminary flux (4-10 keV) of the source was at least 170 mCrab.\nThere was no significant detection at the transit location in the\nprevious and following orbits (92 min before or after the detection) \nwith an upper limit of 20 mCrab.  There is no known bright X-ray source \nat the detected position. \n\nFollow-up observations are encouraged.",
