Siegel (PSU)\nreport on behalf of the Swift Team:\n\nAt 01:42:03 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered and\nlocated GRB 120909A (trigger=533060).  Swift slewed immediately to the burst. \nThe BAT on-board calculated location is \nRA, Dec 275.685, -59.426 which is \n   RA(J2000)  =  18h 22m 44s\n   Dec(J2000) = -59d 25' 34\"\nwith an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including \nsystematic uncertainty).  The BAT light curve shows one, possibly two, peaks\nwith a duration of about 5 sec.  The peak count rate\nwas ~2000 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~1 sec after the trigger. \n\nThe XRT began observing the field at 01:43:36.6 UT, 93.4 seconds after\nthe BAT trigger. XRT found a bright, uncatalogued X-ray source located\nat RA, Dec 275.7388, -59.4485 which is equivalent to:\n   RA(J2000)  = +18h 22m 57.31s\n   Dec(J2000) = -59d 26' 54.6\"\nwith an uncertainty of 4.8 arcseconds (radius, 90% containment). This\nlocation is 127 arcseconds from the BAT onboard position, within the\nBAT error circle. No event data are yet available to determine the\ncolumn density using X-ray spectroscopy. \n\nThe initial flux in the 2.5 s image was 7.55e-09 erg cm^-2 s^-1 (0.2-10\nkeV). \n\nBecause of an earth limb constraint, Swift slewed away before UVOT \ncould take its initial exposures.  Subsequent orbits will include \nUVOT observations. \n\nBurst Advocate for this burst is S.
