Leicester)\nreport on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team:\n\nThe Swift/UVOT began settled observations of the field of GRB 170214A\n38603 s after the LAT trigger (Mailyan and Meegan, GCN Circ. 20675).\nNo optical afterglow consistent with the XRT���s source 1 position\n(Beardmore et al., GCN Circ. 20679, Troja et al., GCN Circ. 20681)\nis detected in the initial UVOT exposures. The source 3 position is just \noff the edge of the field of view.\nPreliminary 3-sigma upper limits using the UVOT photometric system\n(Breeveld et al. 2011, AIP Conf. Proc. 1358, 373) for source 1 in the \ninitial exposures are:\n\nFilter         T_start(s)   T_stop(s)      Exp(s)         Mag\n\nw1               38603        65287         4856         >21.0\n\nThe magnitude in the table is not corrected for the Galactic extinction\ndue to the reddening of E(B-V) = 0.36 in the direction of the burst\n(Schlegel et al. 1998).",
