D'Ai (INAF-IASFPA) report on behalf of the Neil\nGehrels Swift Observatory Team:\n\nAt 10:21:45 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered and\nlocated MAXI J1348-630 (trigger=886496). Swift slewed immediately to the\nsource. The BAT on-board calculated location is\nRA, Dec 207.026, -63.268 which is\n RA(J2000) = 13h 48m 06s\n Dec(J2000) = -63d 16' 02\"\nwith an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including\nsystematic uncertainty). Only the light curve before ~T+10 s is available\nat this moment, and no significant structure is seen, as is usual with an\nimage trigger.\n\nThe XRT began observing the field at 10:24:54.8 UT, 189.2 seconds after\nthe BAT trigger. XRT found a bright X-ray source located\nat RA, Dec 207.0550, -63.2715 which is equivalent to:\n RA(J2000) = 13h 48m 13.20s\n Dec(J2000) = -63d 16' 17.4\"\nwith an uncertainty of 5.4 arcseconds (radius, 90% containment),\nconsistent with the known position of MAXI J1348-630. No\nevent data are yet available to determine the column density using\nX-ray spectroscopy.\n\nThe initial flux in the 0.1 s image was 3.36e-08 erg cm^-2 s^-1 (0.2-10\nkeV).\n\nUVOT took a finding chart exposure of 150 seconds with the White filter\nstarting 199 seconds after the BAT trigger. There is a counterpart\nin the rapidly available 2.7'x2.7' sub-image at\n RA(J2000) =\t13:48:12.84 = 207.05352\n DEC(J2000) = -63:16:28.6 = -63.27462\nwith a 90%-confidence error radius of about 0.61 arc sec. This position is\n11.5 arc sec. from the center of the XRT error circle. The estimated\nmagnitude is 16.56 with a 1-sigma error of about 0.14. No correction has\nbeen made for the large, but uncertain, extinction expected.",
