Groot (Radboud/UCT/SAAO) report on behalf of the\nMeerLICHT consortium:\n\nFollowing the detection by Swift of a bright hard new X-ray and optical\ntransient (Dichiara et al., GCN 32632), the 0.6m wide-field MeerLICHT\ntelescope, located at Sutherland, South Africa, started automatic\nobservations of the BAT error box beginning at 17:49:44 UT on 2022 October\n9. Observations consisted of 60s exposures in the q,u,g,r,i,z bands\nfollowing the sequence quqgqrqiqz and continued for approximately 1 hour.\nSome of our observations were affected by cirrus clouds.\n\nWe detect a source at the Swift/UVOT position (Dichiara et al., GCN 32632)\nconsistent with other optical detections (Lipunov et al., GCN 32634; Perley\net al., GCN 32638; Broens, GCN 32640), and report the following 3-sigma\nu-band upper limit and detections in the AB magnitude system:\n\nu > 17.91 at 18:06:27 UT\ng = 18.22 +/- 0.33 at 18:21:07 UT\nq = 17.19 +/- 0.07 at 18:05:00 UT\nr = 17.76 +/- 0.08 at 18:23:59 UT\ni = 15.58 +/- 0.03 at 18:26:56 UT\nz = 14.89 +/- 0.03 at 18:29:55 UT\n\nMeerLICHT is built and run by a consortium consisting of Radboud\nUniversity, University of Cape Town, the South African Astronomical\nObservatory, the University of Oxford, the University of Manchester and the\nUniversity of Amsterdam.",
