TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 34226 SUBJECT: GRB 230718A: Final Localization Correction DATE: 23/07/18 16:42:46 GMT FROM: Oliver J Roberts at USRA/NASA The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB "At 04:30:02.35 UT on 18 July 2023, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 230718A (trigger 711347407/230718188). This trigger was initially classified as a SHORT GRB (GCN 34225) but is in fact a LONG GRB. The updated on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 185.6, Dec = 39.9 degrees, equivalent 12h 22m, +39d 54' (J2000), with a statistical uncertainty of 15 degrees. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 43 degrees.
