TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 34230 SUBJECT: IPN triangulation of GRB 230715D DATE: 23/07/20 19:12:50 GMT FROM: Anna Ridnaia at Ioffe Institute A.S. Kozyrev, D.V. Golovin, M.L. Litvak, I.G. Mitrofanov, and A.B. Sanin on behalf of the HEND/Mars Odyssey team, A. Ridnaia, D. Frederiks, D. Svinkin, A. Lysenko, and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, A. Goldstein, M. S. Briggs, C. Wilson-Hodge, and E. Burns on behalf of the Fermi GBM team, S. Barthelmy, J. Cummings, H. Krimm, D. Palmer, and A. Tohuvavohu on behalf of the Swift-BAT team, and W. Boynton, C. Fellows, K. Harshman, H. Enos, R. Starr, and A.S. Gardner on on behalf of the GRS-Odyssey GRB team, report: A long-duration GRB 230715D has been detected by Fermi (GBM trigger 711088412), Konus-Wind in the waiting mode, Swift (BAT), and Mars-Odyssey (HEND), so far, at about 16408 s UT (04:33:28) The burst was outside the coded field of view of the BAT. We have triangulated it to a preliminary, 3 sigma error box whose coordinates are: --------------------------------------------- RA(2000), deg Dec(2000), deg --------------------------------------------- Center: 38.861 (02h 35m 27s) -65.868 (-65d 52' 05") Corners: 19.987 (01h 19m 57s) -76.691 (-76d 41' 27") 46.191 (03h 04m 46s) -50.654 (-50d 39' 14") 44.347 (02h 57m 23s) -48.728 (-48d 43' 41") 19.602 (01h 18m 24s) -74.655 (-74d 39' 18") --------------------------------------------- The error box area is 34.5 sq. deg, and its maximum dimension is 24.0 deg (the minimum one is 1.4 deg). The Sun distance was 94 deg. The IPN localization is consistent with, but reduces the area of, the Fermi-GBM final localization (glg_healpix_all_bn230715190_v00). It was inside the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) field of view (Sector 67, Cameras 3 & 4). We thank Robert Wilson for pointing out the TESS coverage of the IPN localization. This localization may be improved. A triangulation map and HEALPix FITS file are posted at http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB230715_T16407/IPN/
