TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 34876 SUBJECT: GRB 231024A: Fermi GBM Final Localization DATE: 23/10/24 21:38:20 GMT FROM: Lorenzo Scotton at UAH The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB "At 13:20:34.42 UT on 24 October 2023, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 231024A (trigger 719846439/231024556). The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 15.4, Dec = -14.1 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 01h 01m, -14d 05'), with a statistical uncertainty of 12.6 degrees. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 89.0 degrees.
