We observed the field of EP240414a (Lian et al., GCN 36091) by the 2.4 meter GMG telescope in Yunnan observatories. The observation began from UT 18:42:44.276 April 18, 2024, about 4.4 days from the trigger. The optical counterpart of EP240414a was marginally detected. The preliminary results are shown as
