TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 36505 SUBJECT: GRB 240517A: Fermi GBM Final Real-time Localization DATE: 24/05/17 14:52:26 GMT FROM: Fermi GBM Team at MSFC/Fermi-GBM The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB At 14:41:50 UT on 17 May 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240517A (trigger 737649715.12651 / 240517612). The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 249.9, Dec = -58.3 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 16h 39m, -58d 17'), with a statistical uncertainty of 19.5 degrees. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 23.0 degrees.
