Filippenko (UC Berkeley) report on\n\nbehalf of the KAIT GRB team:\n\n\n\nThe 0.76-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT), located at\n\nLick Observatory, responded to Swift GRB 240727A (Parsotan et al.,\n\nGCN 36938) starting on July 27, 04:22:16 UT. We detected an uncataloged\n\noptical afterglow candidate not shown in DSS archive at position\n\nof (error ~0.5\"):\n\n\nRA:  15:45:44.98  (J2000)\n\nDec: +08:37:13.15 (J2000)\n\n\nThis position is about 1.1 arcsec to the Swift/XRT localization\n\n(Parsotan et al., GCN 36938). We measure the target is ~19.0 in our\n\nclear band image at ~34 minutes after burst. We can not estimate the\n\nvariability at this time, further observations are encouraged.\n",
