The localization may be improved in the refined analysis.\n\nAt the time of this burst ECLAIRs was not in operational mode.\n\nWe note that the time coincidence (GCN 37021) and localization coincidence between EP240802a (GCN 37019) and GRB 240802A suggest the association of these two events. Further follow-up observations are strongly encouraged.\n\nThe Space Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) is a China-France joint mission led by the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA, China), National Center for Space Studies (CNES, France) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS, China), which is dedicated to observing gamma-ray bursts and other transient phenomena in the energetic universe.
