TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 37211 SUBJECT: Trigger 1249653: Swift detection of SGR 1E 1841-045 / Kes 73 DATE: 24/08/20 19:31:31 GMT FROM: Tyler Parsotan at NASA GSFC J. J. DeLaunay (PSU), S. Dichiara (PSU), A. Y. Lien (U Tampa) and T. M. Parsotan (GSFC) report on behalf of the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory Team: At 19:01:18 UT, the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) triggered on SGR 1E 1841-045 / Kes 73 (trigger=1249653). Swift did not slew to the source. The BAT on-board calculated location is RA, Dec 280.339, -4.928 which is RA(J2000) = 18h 41m 21s Dec(J2000) = -04d 55' 39" with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin (radius, 90% containment, including systematic uncertainty). The BAT light curve showed a double-peaked structure with a duration of about 0.5 sec. The peak count rate was ~30000 counts/sec (15-350 keV), at ~0 sec after the trigger. NO XRT or UVOT data is available since the spacecraft did not slew to the source.
