The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 20:55:11 UT on 18 Sep 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240918A (trigger 748385716.160644 / 240918872).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 221.6, Dec = 17.0 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 14h 46m, 17d 00'), with a statistical uncertainty of 10.4 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 86.0 degrees.
