Figueredo report on behalf of the UNC team of the FUN GRB Collaboration.\n\nWith SOAR, we have continued to image the NIR afterglow (Haislip et al.,\nGCN 3913) of GRB 050904 (Cummings et al., GCN 3910) in JHK.  Between 3.0\nand 7.4 hours after the burst, we measure the temporal index to be -1.20.\nAt 7.4 hours after the burst, we measure J - K = 1.2 mag, corresponding to\na spectral index of -0.35.\n\nScaling the i and R limits of Fox et al. (GCN 3912) to 3.0 hours after the\nburst, we measure i - J > 1.85 mag and R - J > 3.05 mag, corresponding to\nspectral indexes of <-1.90 and <-3.35, respectively.\n\nThis is too steep to be explained by even heavy extinction.  If\ninterpretted as dropout, this corresponds to 5.3 < z < 9.0 (calculated\nusing filter centers).\n\nFurther NIR and especially z observations are strongly encouraged.",
