Becerra (U Rome) , Massine El Kabir (U Rome), Yu-Han Yang (U Rome), Eleonora Troja (U Rome) report on behalf of the ERC BHianca team:\n\nWe observed the optical counterpart of EP250827a (Hua et al., GCN 41553) reported by Levan et al. (GCN 41554) and Wenxiong et al. (GCN 41555) with the X-Shooter spectrograph on the ESO VLT UT3 (Melipal). Observations began at T+1.67 hours and obtained a total of 4x600s spectra at an average airmass of about 1.45.\n\nAt the position of the optical counterpart we detect a bright continuum. We identify absorption features (e.g. Fe II, Mg I, Mg II, C lV, Si IV, Si II, Al II, Al III) at a common redshift of z ~ 1.61 confirming the result reported by Levan et al. (GCN 41557).\n\nWe thank the staff at the VLT, for the rapid execution of these observations.",
