Vitali   report on behalf of the REM team:\n\n\nThe NIR afterglow is detected by the REM telescope at coordinates:\n\nRA = 23:40:17.1\nDEC = 31:46:43.6\n\nwith H~13.8 at 4:18:12 UT.\n\nThe source is NOT in the XRT error circle, although rather close to  \nit. The source is bright, and not present in the 2MASS or USNO  \ncatalogues. The source is compatible with that reported by Rykoff et  \nal. (GCN 6987).\n\nFurther observations are in progress.",
