Vergani, and F. \nVitali, report on behalf of the REM team:\n\nThe robotic 60-cm REM telescope located at La Silla (Chile) observed \nautomatically the field of the GRB 080409 (Holland et al., GCN 7573) \nstarting about 81 seconds after the burst. Airmass was large (about 2.9).\n\nPreliminary photometry of our earliest images (R: 30 s, H: 50 s) reveal \nno new sources inside the XRT error circle down to 3sigma limiting \nmagnitudes of H ~ 15.0 and R ~ 17.0.\n\n[GCN OPS NOTE(09apr08): Per author's request, the \"080309\" in the Subject-line\nand in the body of the Circular was changed to \"080409\".]",
