Lidman (ESO), on behalf of a larger\ncollaboration, report:\n\n\n\"We obtained optical R-band images on three different positions at two\ndifferent epochs each in order to mosaic the IPN error box (Cline et al.,\nGCN #763) of GRB000801 (Hurley et al., GCN #761, #762) between 2000 Aug\n2.972 and Aug 7.976 UT with Antu (VLT-UT1) plus FORS1 at ESO - Paranal\n(Chile). The comparison between pairs\nof images does not reveal any object with significant brightness variation\ndown to a 3-sigma limiting R magnitudes 24.4, 24.0 and 24.5 over the\ncentral, southeastern and northwestern parts of the GRB error box,\nrespectively.\".\n\n\nThis message can be cited.",
