Vergani, F.   \nVitali report on behalf of the REM team:\n\n\nThe robotic 60-cm REM telescope located at La Silla (Chile) observed  \nautomatically the field of the GRB 080916 on\nSep 16 starting from about 20 s after the GRB time. We see a source  \nnot present in the 2MASS catalogue with approximately H~14.5 one  \nminute after the burst at the coordinates RA=22:25:06.19,  \nDEC=-57:01:24.1 (error 1 arcsec).\n\nFurther observations are in progress.\n\n[GCN OPS NOTE(16sep08):  The author requests that people should use\nthe 8238 Circular as the primary source.  The 8239 Circular was\nthe result of multiple efforts of a distributed team.]\n[GCN OPS NOTE(16sep08): Per author's request, DM was removed\nfrom the author list.]",
