The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 23:37:06 UT on 1 Jan 2008, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 080101A (trigger 220923427.133782 / 080101984).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 183.7, Dec = 2.4 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 12h 14m, 2d 23'), with a statistical uncertainty of 6.3 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 29.0 degrees.
