The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB

At 18:46:10 UT on 17 Apr 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240417A (trigger 735072375.64676 / 240417782).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 30.7, Dec = -49.7 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 02h 02m, -49d 42'), with a statistical uncertainty of 12.8 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 133.0 degrees.
