The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 22:00:50 UT on 12 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240812C (trigger 745192855.283778 / 240812917).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 74.8, Dec = -39.9 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 04h 59m, -39d 53'), with a statistical uncertainty of 1.0 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 2.0 degrees.
