The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB

At 13:11:16 UT on 24 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240824B (trigger 746197881.698742 / 240824549).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 17.5, Dec = -23.3 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 01h 10m, -23d 18'), with a statistical uncertainty of 28.2 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 72.0 degrees.
