WeiKang Zheng, Thomas G. Brink, and Alexei V. Filippenko (UCB) report on
behalf of the KAIT GRB team:
We observed the star Gaia DR3 2445442335531658752, the optical counterpart
of an EP flare event (trigger ID 01709018832; Jiang et al., GCN 37090;
Zheng et al., GCN 37095; Han et al., GCN 37109), with the Kast spectrograph
on the 3 m Shane telescope at Lick Observatory. Observations were performed
on Aug. 14 UTC, about 7.2 days after the trigger, covering the 3500-10,000
Ang wavelength range, with an exposure time of 900 s. The spectrum shows a
red continuum flux with superposed strong hydrogen Balmer emission lines as
well as Ca II H&K and TiO emission lines, consistent with a typical dMe
star spectrum, confirming this to be the flare star related to the EP flare
event.
