Jonker (Radboud), report on behalf of the Stargate collaboration.

We carried out a full reduction of the VLT/X-shooter spectrum of EP250108a (Li et al., GCN 38861; Eyles-Ferris, GCN 38878) described by Zhu et al. (GCN 38908), using the most up-to-date calibrations and the complete pipeline procedure.

While the overall shape of the continuum and the presence of the narrow emission and absorption lines is unchanged, we cannot recover the very broad feature claimed in our original report at 3600 AA (Zhu et al., GCN 38908), which is most likely spurious. In the new reduction, the continuum remains blue and featureless down to 3200 AA. The determination of the source redshift is unaffected.

We apologize for any confusion that our preliminary report might have caused.
