The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB

At 06:28:48 UT on 6 May 2026, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 260506A (trigger 799741733.38117 / 260506270).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 145.7, Dec = 76.1 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 09h 42m, 76d 05'), with a statistical uncertainty of 7.2 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 18.0 degrees.
