The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB.
"At 20:48:03.81 UT on 02 October 2026, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 261002A (trigger 812666888/261002867).
The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 155.0, Dec = -1.9 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 10h 20m, -1d 54'), with a statistical uncertainty of 5.5 degrees.
The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 83 degrees.
