The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 01:27:03 UT on 29 Oct 2026, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 261029A (trigger 814930028.806162 / 261029060).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 12.2, Dec = 32.3 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 00h 48m, 32d 17'), with a statistical uncertainty of 3.6 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 71.0 degrees.
