The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB

At 02:24:10 UT on 29 Oct 2026, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 261029B (trigger 814933455.723852 / 261029100).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 48.5, Dec = 4.3 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 03h 14m, 4d 17'), with a statistical uncertainty of 9.4 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 71.0 degrees.
