At 2013-01-02T04:41:42 UT, the MAXI/GSC nova alert system triggered
on a bright uncatalogued X-ray transient source.
The transient emission started at 04:41:42 and lasted at least
45 seconds within the 74 second long triangular transit response
of MAXI/GSC. We identify this event as GRB 130102B.

Assuming that the source flux was constant over the transit,
we obtain the source position at

 (R.A., Dec) = (309.58 deg, -72.38 deg ) = (20 38 20, -72 22 36)(J2000)

with a 90% C.L. statistical error of 0.2 deg and an additional systematic
uncertainty of 0.2 deg (90% containment radius). The 4-10 keV flux was
320 +- 40 mCrab.

There was no significant excess flux in the previous transit at 03:09UT
and in the next transit at 06:15 UT$B!!(Bwith an upper limit of 20 mCrab for each.

S. Golenetskii, R.Aptekar, E. Mazets, V. Pal'shin, D. Frederiks, P.
Oleynik, M. Ulanov, D. Svinkin, and T. Cline on behalf of the Konus-Wind
team report:

The long GRB 130102B localized by MAXI/GSC (Higa et al., GCN 14130) was
detected by Konus-Wind in the waiting mode.

The burst light curve shows a single pulse with a total duration of ~30 s.

As observed by Konus-Wind, the burst had a fluence of (3.46 +/-
0.28)x10^-6 erg/cm2 (in the 20 - 1400 keV energy range).

Fitting the K-W 3-channel time-integrated spectrum (from T0(MAXI)-21 s
to T0(MAXI)+11 s) by a simple power-law model yields a power law index
of 2.85 +/- 0.17.

All the quoted errors are estimated at the 1 sigma confidence level.

The K-W light curve of this burst is available at

MASTER-ICATE robotic very wide field cameras (FOV=2x384 square degrees,
D=72mm, f/1.2, 1 pix = 22 arcsec, http://observ.pereplet.ru) located
in Argentina (Observatorio Astronomico Felix Aguilar,
http://93.180.27.230:8080/) were imaging the sky area of MAXI/GSC GRB
130102B (M. Higa et al., GCN 14130) before, during and after trigger time
with 2 sec exposures without time gap. Elevation of center of GRB error
box at the moment of MAXI/GSC trigger was 16 deg.

We have covered the whole interval of gamma-ray activity by KONUS-WIND
(Golenetski et al., GCN 14135) which corresponds to T-20 sec to T+10 sec
from MAXI/GSC trigger time.

We haven't found optical transient within MAXI/GSC error box on our 2-s
frames and on the coadded image made of 15 frames and total exposure of 30
seconds. The 3-sigma upper limit (with the reference to V magnitudes from
Tycho-2 catalog) has been about 10.0 mag on single images and 11.5 mag on
coadded image.

The reduction of the whole data set is continuing.
