The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB

At 19:06:02 UT on 4 Aug 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240804A (trigger 744491167.353348 / 240804796).

The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 266.5, Dec = 59.8 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 17h 45m, 59d 47'), with a statistical uncertainty of 3.7 degrees.

The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 21.0 degrees.

MASTER-Tavrida robotic telescope  (Global MASTER-Net: http://observ.pereplet.ru, Lipunov et al., 2010, Advances in Astronomy, vol. 2010, 30L)  located in Russia (Lomonosov MSU, SAI Crimea astronomical station) started inspect of the Fermi GRB 240804A ( Fermi GBM team, GCN 37028) errorbox  6897 sec after notice time and 6928 sec after trigger time at 2024-08-04 21:01:30 UT, with upper limit up to  18.8 mag. The observations began at zenith distance = 28 deg. The sun  altitude  is -28.0 deg. 

The galactic latitude b = 31 deg., longitude l = 88 deg.

Filter C is a clear (unfiltred) band.
