WeiKang Zheng (UCB), Yun Wang (UCB), Xuhui Han (NAOC),
Pinpin Zhang (NAOC), and Alexei V. Filippenko (UCB) report on
behalf of the KAIT GRB team:
The 0.76-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope (KAIT), located at
Lick Observatory, observed the field of SVOM GRB 261007A (Goto
et al., GCN 45824) starting at 05:43:55, 112 seconds after SVOM
trigger. Observations were performed in 3 x 3 tiling mode, and a
set of clear (roughly R) filter images were obtained. In one of
the fields, we found an optical counterpart candidate at position
of Ra,Dec=(11.6142,-17.6922 degree), which is equal to:
RA = 00:46:27.4 (J2000)
Dec= -17:41:32.0 (J2000).
The candidate decayed from 15.1 mag to 17.2 mag in our observations
separated by ~23 minutes, we suggest this to be the optical
counterpart of GRB 261007A. Observations are on going.
