F.E. Marshall (NASA/GSFC) and C. Pagani (PSU)
report on behalf of the Swift/UVOT team:
The Swift/UVOT observed the field of Swift trigger number 315630
starting 95 s after the BAT trigger (Pagani et al., GCN Circ. 7912).
No afterglow has been detected in either the X-ray
(Barthelmy et al., GCN Circ. 7921) or optical
(Gonsalves et al., GCN Circ. 7922) bands.
We do not find a source in any of the UVOT observations inside
the ground-calculated BAT error circle (Barthelmy et al., GCN Circ. 7921).
The first UVOT finding chart exposure covers only about 90% of
the BAT error region, but the other exposures cover the entire
BAT error region. The 3-sigma upper limits for detecting
a source in the first finding chart (FC) exposure and co-added frames are:
Filter T_start(s) T_stop(s) Exp(s) Mag (3-sigma UL)
white (FC) 95 194 98 >19.7
white 95 4573 241 >20.4
v 201 5854 216 >18.6
b 4225 4424 197 >19.9
u 4019 4218 197 >19.8
uvw1 3815 4014 197 >19.6
uvm2 3609 5995 329 >20.2
uvw2 5450 5649 197 >19.5
The values quoted above are not corrected for the expected Galactic
extinction corresponding to a reddening of E(B-V) = 0.051 mag in
the direction of the burst (Schlegel et al. 1998).
