M. Boer, J-F Olive, and J-P Dezalay, on behalf of the HETE GRB team, report:

Ulysses, Mars Odyssey-HEND, Mars Odyssey-GRS, and HETE-FREGATE
observed this GRB at 24827 seconds. As observed by Ulysses, it had a
duration of approximately 15 seconds, a 25-100 keV fluence of
approximately 5.1E-06 erg/cm2, and a peak flux of approximately
5.1E-07 erg/cm2 s over 0.50 seconds.

The burst arrival direction was very close to that of the Ulysses/MO
vector, resulting in one very wide annulus (~112') and two much smaller
ones (~6' and 8'). The result is two alternate, preliminary, 3 sigma
error boxes each with approximate areas 500 square arcminutes each
whose coordinates are:

There is a chance that the ambiguity can be resolved by further
processing, if Konus or RHESSI observed this event; Konus data are
scheduled to be downlinked around 0500 UT on Thursday September 5.

Maps will be posted shortly at ssl.berkeley.edu/ipn3/020904.
However, viewer discretion is advised; they aren't pretty.

These error boxes may be improved.

A GCN socket message has been issued with two larger, four-cornered
error boxes, due to the format of those message.
